This presentation is designed as an interactive seminar, rather than a stage presentation.  It explores factors or attributes that those participating see as most effective in good leadership.    I see effective leadership to be very subjective and context-dependent, and excellent leadership adapts itself to the needs of the context as well as those being led.  We explore what factors or attributes those in the session consider to be most important for them – there are many right answers, while allowing for some clearly ‘wrong’ answers as well.  The Fifth Factor is an intangible that synthesizes many other factors, yet still stands apart.  Obviously whether it’s Fifth or Fourth or Twelth factor, doesn’t matter – for me, it’s an intangible that grows and increases with experience and the intent to get better – consciously and intentionally working to improve one’s service to purpose, organization and subordinates – for isn’t that what effective leadership is really all about?
